This letter began as an open letter to the Nomination Committee at XBiz; explaining the reasons why we felt that PornStarTweet deserved to win the Most Progressive Web Company of the Year Award at the forthcoming 2011 Xbiz Awards… It morphed into more of a vision statement of how we began, who we have become and where we intend to go from here — it’s also a message to our fans and supporters (and there are thousands of you) – a thank you for making PornStarTweet a success. Here then is the letter…
We are, yet again, humbled and delighted to be nominated by our peer community, this year for Most Progressive Web Company. When PornStarTweet launched in February 2009 we sincerely had no concept of how it would grow and become a part of the industry.
At it’s inception PornStarTweet followed 17 Porn Stars who were using Twitter, by the time the XBiz Awards are announced we will be following more than 1,000 Porn Stars, 300 Alt Girls, 400 Web Girls, 200 Gay/Tranny Porn Stars, 200 Web Cam Models, and more — in total more than 3,500 individual talent and professionals in all facets of Adult Entertainment. In 2010, we followed the daily lives of these individuals through more than 3 Million Tweets – containing more than 250,000 photos and videos from their personal and “behind the scenes” lives; making them all the more real; oft interesting and always entertaining to a new generation of fans and adult entertainment consumers.
We expanded our Social Media reach to include not only mainstream Social Networks like Twitter and Facebook, but industry networks including FetLife, AdultSpace, XPeeps, XFanz and more. We’ve integrated and expanded profiles to include links to Freeones.com, Twistys.com, VOD networks, Cam Sites and just about anywhere on the web fans can find more information about their favorite stars. We’ve integrated profile linking pages with websites and webmasters (through tools like the XBiz nominated LinkSpun.com) which comprise more than 10,000 outbound links throughout the world from our network of sites.
The central hub for PornStarTweet has become known as the Naughty Tweet Network which now encompasses 16 websites each focused on specific niches within Social Media and all designed to promote the industry, performers and professionals. Our most recent site, NaughtyWishLists.com, highlights and is integrated with the myriad of retail sites (both adult and mainstream) which offer Wish Lists for industry performers to allow fans to interact with them by purchasing them gifts and making donations to charities on their behalf.
PornStarTweet, and the entire Naughty Tweet Network, have been developed with the hard work and determination to develop and tie together mainstream and adult worlds through Social Media. We interact with fans, stars, and industry professionals on all levels and have contributed to all facets of the business by providing solid business advise during panels, seminars and through daily interaction on industry forums. 00:43 S2: I’m doing great. How are you?
00:47 S1: You know, it’s Christmas. It’s been crazy. We were scheduled to actually do this interview on Christmas Eve, but something happened. I think Santa kidnapped you or something, right? What happened?
00:56 S2: Yes, he did. Yes, he did. I kind of liked it. [laughter]
01:02 S1: All right. So did you have a good Christmas? Did you get some beer?
01:05 S2: Oh, it was so good. I had the best Christmas ever. It really went like too fast. It was like here and the next thing I knew, it’s like one day. I was like, “Oh, my God.” Like Christmas, I’m back.
01:05 S1: Now, did you get anything that the fans out there will be excited about what you got for Christmas this year? Anything crazy?
01:05 S2: Not really. Santa gave me my period. [laughter] At least I’m not pregnant, though. Thank God. I’m like, thank you, Santa. No, I just got like a ton of like Hello Kitty stuff. I’m like obsessed with Hello Kitty champagne, whole bunch of like pajamas and lots of fans got me some really awesome stuff off on my Amazon Wish List. So I think, you know, they’re going to be getting some nice thank you packages, from their sexy Santa Richelle Ryan. [chuckle]
02:02 S1: Good. And so you’re a big Pelican fan and that’s all up on your wish list. You know, I should get myself a plug here while we’re at it. We always aggregate everything what’s going on with her pictures and everything that’s going on. Now, are you one of those Twitter fanatics? And by fanatics I mean by fanatic that means you tweet when the stop light turns red, you tweet when the stop light turns green. Are you one of those?
03:39 S2: No, not that bad. [chuckle] Not that bad. I mean like I’m just like I’m not that bad, but I don’t know. I mean like I could sit and just like play on Twitter. And if I’m like bored, I’m like waiting around like doing nothing or if I’m waiting around on set, like I’ll get on Twitter. But I don’t like tweet like all of my food items I’m eating for the day. [chuckle] Like I don’t do Foursquare. I don’t do any of that shit, so…
04:05 S1: You’re not on Foursquare, okay. So, stalkers, beware. You’re not going to learn where Richelle is on Foursquare, which is [04:11] ____.
04:13 S2: Yeah, definitely not. I’ll push it like out there I guess.
04:13 S1: We see a lot of tweets, obviously. We aggregate almost a thousand porn stars now, and we see tons and tons of tweets. And you know, I’ve got to tell that most boring tweets are the ones when they tweet their food.
04:28 S2: Oh, my god, I know, right?
04:30 S1: But, you know, pictures of food just never come out really as good as you really think they are. So…
04:30 S2: Yeah.

04:38 S1: There’s a reason they usually paint that stuff was wax and stuff in the commercials.
04:43 S2: Exactly.

04:46 S2: Exactly. Nobody cares what you’re eating.
04:46 S1: How many followers do you have on Twitter?
04:46 S2: Hold on. I’m on Twitter now as we speak. I have almost 8900.
04:58 S1: Wow! That’s a lot, huh.

04:58 S1: So now, when did you get on Twitter? How long have you been on Twitter?
05:04 S2: I got on Twitter actually last December. And it was funny because like when I… And you know, I heard about Twitter and I was like, oh, my God. I was like that just sounds like the stupidest shit ever. And then I was like, you know what, I was like… And so like last December I found out and I was like, you know, I was like let me just create a Twitter. It was like… And it seems like everybody in the porn world was on Twitter and doing it.
05:25 S1: Yup.
05:25 S2: So I created one and now I’m like addicted. So…
05:30 S1: Well, it’s good to know that you succumbed to peer pressure. I like that, so…
05:30 S2: Yeah.
05:35 S1: Join Twitter and the peer pressure is on. [laughter]
05:35 S2: Yes, exactly. And that was like I’m trying to like, you know, get my other friend’s on it, too. Like all my girl friends like, “You need to get a Twitter” because everybody does Facebook. But Facebook doesn’t like the porn stars. They’ve deleted my Richelle Ryan page three times. So I’m like, you know what, I’m not signing up for a fourth page. If they keep deleting me, like screw them. [chuckle]
