Last night, XRCO (X Rated Critics Organization, of which I’m a voting member) handed out their 25th Annual Awards last night in Hollywood to an industry only crowd. The event was hosted by Kayden Kross and jessica drake. Here are the winners and nominees, and I have some quick comments on the results at the bottom.

First I want to say that I’m shocked to see a tie in the epic category. Fallen was a very good movie, but Pirates II was groundbreaking and even surpassed the first one which was a consensus sweep in its award year. Any other year Fallen might have taken the prize, but this year it shouldn’t have tied with Pirates II.

Next, Max Hardcore should not be given any away, let alone a hall of fame nod no matter how tongue in cheek it was intended to be. I’m all for free speech but he pushed things to beyond good taste or even entertainment and went for just shock value. As a personal policy, we don’t print any of his stuff in the mag, and I had a real problem with this “award” when I learned of it when “we” the voting members of XRCO didn’t have anything to do with it. I also had several issues with some of the other Hall inductions, but even more so with some huge omissions in there, but that’s for another day.

Most of the other awards I felt were pretty right on. I would’ve thought Sasha Grey would get the oralist plaque. Miles From Needles and Cry Wolf I thought would contend with Cheerleaders, but it’s still also deserving. Amber Rayne is a long underrated star who is finally getting her recognition. Jenna Haze had a great year, as did Teagan in her “comeback.” Sasha’s mainstream career is on fire right now, and so is Katie Morgan’s with  her HBO show and Zack and Miri appearance. Stoya is totally deserving of the top new starlet, and Bobbi Starr the same with her “superslut” award. I was kinda surprised to see Julia Ann as the top MILF. I thought Lisa Ann definitely deserved that one, especially with her Sarah Palin kinda year.

No Guts No Glory Fundraiser Bash to Protect the Adult Industry

(Hollywood, CA) Who says you can’t have fun while supporting a worthy cause?

Hundreds of porn stars, starlets, directors, producers, agents and dozens of sexy wannabees will descend on Les Deux in Hollywood Tuesday, April 14th for a fantastic No Guts No Glory adult industry party that will raise money in an effort to protect those that enjoy adult movies from unnecessary government intrusion.

The lively red carpet event will showcase the most famous faces in porn all partying for an important cause two nights before the big XRCO Awards take place down the street in Hollywood.

“We wanted to have this important event the same week when many people will be in town for the XRCOs,” stated Shy Love of Adult Talent Managers.

Porn stars from licensed agencies will be admitted free but all others including fans and industry members will be required to pay a $20 donation of which 100% of the money generated will be used for the ongoing crusade to save the industry from government restriction and possible extinction. “Many people don’t realize our industry is living in perilous times as the government is attempting to restrict and even shut down future production. We need to raise funds to protect everybody’s right to shoot and enjoy watching adult movies,” proclaimed Derek Hay of LA Direct Models.

The No Guts No Glory rallying cry is very appropriate for a fundraising event which could have far reaching consequences.

A few of the superstar names already confirmed to attend and support the cause are Jenny Hendrix, Shyla Stylez, Lisa Ann, Nikki Benz, Kristina Rose, Camilla Bella, Jaelyn Fox and Priya Rai but hundreds are expected to shine on the paparazzi-lined red carpet before getting down to some serious partying and fundraising inside the hip Hollywood nightclub.

Shy Love has been working with other members of the LATATA (Licensed Adult Talent Agency Trade Association) in what will be an ongoing effort to unite the entire industry to help block future production restrictions that could lead to a deathblow for the industry.

“This is a very serious situation and if you are a member of the adult entertainment world or are a fan that appreciates watching these beautiful girls, you need to come down to Les Deux on Tuesday, April 14th by a ticket and support the cause,” Love said.

Red carpet starts Tuesday, April 14th at 9PM until 11PM at Les Deux 1638 North Las Palmas Ave, Hollywood, CA 90028 and the party goes until 2AM.

All members of the media are invited to cover the red carpet with both still and video cameras however only still cameras will be allowed inside the club.
